Clarissa Dean is a first-generation student at Western Kentucky University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts, double-majoring in journalism and visual journalism photography with a concentration in photography and minoring in professional writing. While a full-time student, she also works at the Talisman as the executive editor, an award-winning collegiate lifestyle and culture website and magazine. Additionally, she is actively completing an internship as a writer through The Borgen Project, a nonprofit organization focused on reducing global poverty. Through her time at college, Clarissa has expanded her skills and knowledge in various journalistic techniques. Her skills include but are not limited to copy editing, reporting, writing, interviewing, portrait photography, feature photography, news writing, feature writing and more.​
